Appaloosa Gelding for Sale in Kentwood, LA

Cody is a beautiful Appaloosa gelding. He is 5 Years old and stands 14 hands tall. He is square-made (stout). He has been microchipped for permanent identification. Cody has been used in all phases of ranch work. He has been on many trail rides, ridden by beginners and youth. He’s traffic safe for riding on the road, he doesn’t back down from a challenge, and will go through or cross anything you come up on, water, bridges, logs, wildlife, etc..… Cody is an awesome buggy horse. He has been pulled through town and all the country roads. If you can hold the driving lines, you can drive Cody. He will start and stop the wagon with ease. I have started roping a dummy on Cody. He’s got plenty of speed to get there. He will track it right down the middle to give you that perfect shot and has an excellent stop. He can handle a difficult person with no problem. He is very easy around cattle and does not get rattled in a pressure situation when sorting in the catch pen. Cody has been hog hunted off for over a year. I have been using him to practice Cowboy mounted shooting. He is great with the guns. The noise, the fire, the smoke. He is a good little shooting horse. Cody has been started on the lay-down and the sit-up tricks. He is finished with coming to pick you up from the fence, stool, or step for easy mounting. Cody has no problem being ridden bareback. He’s had an American flag carried on him. He’s got a super easy one-hand, neck rein, great stop, and will back up easily. If you’re looking for an all-around beautiful gelding that is home-raised and gentle, that is sound in every way, no scars, no health issues, no bad habits, here is a rare opportunity to purchase him, just a clean little gelding. OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 12/11 @ 5:20 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Kentwood, LA

This rural town was founded by Amos Kent in 1893. On August 30, 2012, pressure on a dam on the Tangipahoa River to the north of the town as a result of Hurricane Isaac led to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal calling for a mandatory evacuation of the town due to fears of large-scale flooding from Lake Tangipahoa. The evacuation order was later rescinded and the dam held.
