Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Fort Collins, CO

★★ SQUIDWARD ★★ 6-Year-Old Gelding | Ranch-Raised • Broke • Versatile & Gritty Squidward is a sharp, capable gelding with all the grit and talent you’d expect from a true ranch partner — wrapped up in a compact, catty, and athletic package. At 12 years old, he’s got just the right blend of experience, maturity, and try. This gelding has done the real work. He’s pushed cattle, checked fence lines, been part of brandings, and logged miles of ranch and trail terrain. He’s had a rope thrown off him, navigated rough country, and been exposed to just about everything imaginable — from loud vehicles and tarps to strollers and dogs. He handles pressure and unpredictability with confidence and a clear mind. Under saddle, Squidward is a joy to ride. He has a finished neck rein, a smooth walk-jog-lope, and a snappy rollback. He stops off your seat and voice, backs easily, sidepasses, and moves off leg with hardly any cue. He’s broke and responsive but not overreactive — a perfect balance of feel and reliability. He’s also been ridden bridleless and bareback down the highway and through intense wind — nothing phases him. Squidward is incredibly surefooted on the trail and has crossed water, bridges, tarps, and more. His mountain experience shows — he’s steady, bold, and smart about where he places his feet. He’s the kind of horse who gives you confidence, no matter the environment. With a naturally curious, friendly personality, Squidward is easy to handle on the ground and gets along well in a herd or stall setting. He leads, loads, ties, bathes, and is respectful to both the vet and farrier. If you’re looking for a seasoned gelding with endurance, a calm mind, and a go-all-day work ethic, Squidward checks all the boxes. He’s ready for your next branding, big mountain ride, or weekend job. 📽️ Watch his video — then come meet this gritty, good-minded gelding in person! OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 11/26 @ 4:30 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
