Miss Lena is looking for her special person! She is a 2018 model bay Friesian/Quarter Horse cross mare and stands 15.3 hands tall. She is the perfect age to still carry you for years but has already surpassed all of the silly business of a younger horse. Not only does Lena ride the very best, she also drives like a dream. She is traffic safe whether you ride or drive her on the road. Lena is a thick made mare who can easily carry all sizes of riders. If you enjoy grooming, and dolling up your horses, Lena is your girl. Her mane and tail give off Rapunzel vibes. She enjoys having them both brushed, and stands like a statue to have them braided up. My wife has enjoyed practicing all the different types of braids she knows, while Lena patiently stands tied. She also likes to be bathed and stands well for it as well. Lena is suited for almost all types of riders, since we have not found a single thing, she spooks at. She is safe to ride out alone, with a group, or in an arena full of riders who don’t know what personal space is. She deals with being at the front, middle, or very back of the group with no fuss. Lena has been used to pony other horses, and does not mind being used to teach younger horses to lead quietly and easily. She is a fancy mover, with her floaty trot and lope. She picks up both leads easily at a lope naturally. For a thick made, big-boned lady like her, she has a nice turnaround. She is soft in the bridle, and responds nicely to your leg cues. She has an almost automatic side-pass when given the cue. Lena has been used at ranch rodeos, along with countless hours on ranches day-working. She is no stranger to a hard day’s work and will still have a pleasant attitude at the end of the day.
She will cross any body of water that you can find, no matter the size. Logs, bridges, and even an interstate overpass do not phase her. While my wife is busy showing her horse at a local show, I will regularly take Lena along to go ride into town and go through the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru since she will stand patiently in line behind cars and with cars very closely behind her. Lena is also very familiar with many different obstacles and obstacle courses. We entered her into an Extreme Cowboy show for the first time, and she took everything in stride with no issues. Lena will stand patiently to be harnessed and hitched up to the cart and will take off at a nice slow walk until you ask her to move faster. She has been used from small carts to bigger carriages, with no issues.
She stands still for grooming, saddling, mounting, and for the farrier. I am a farrier by trade, and I wish every horse on my books stood as well as Lena does. She is currently shod, but has been barefoot most of the time we’ve had her, with no tenderness or lameness. She is sound with or without shoes. She is easy to load and will hop into any trailer. We have hauled her in an open livestock trailer and a slant load. She does not paw and stands like a broke horse should while going down the road. With her professional pictures, our photographer and his helpers were in love with her and how well behaved she is. They said she could be a model with how naturally she posed and kept her ears forward the entire time. They loved being able to position her for a picture, then throw her reins up over her neck and walk away while Lena stayed exactly where they put her. I think Lena enjoyed being the star of the show. She has a current coggins and vet exam. Miss Lena is as cool as they come and a true sweetheart. If you come out to meet Lena, you will not want to leave without her. She lives in Greensburg, KY. Call Alex with Flying P Equine for any questions or to schedule a time to meet this phenomenal mare.

About GREENSBURG, KY
The 1780 settlement was originally known as "Glover's Station", for local landowner John Glover, who received 193 acres (0.78 km 2) in the area as a military grant after the American Revolution. Following the establishment of Green County (named for Revolutionary War Maj. General Nathanael Greene ) from parts of Lincoln and Nelson counties in 1792, Greensburg was laid out and established two years later as its eponymous seat of government. It was incorporated as a city a year after that. The central Public Square was also laid out in 1795 and has been retained as designed since then, with the only changes being the paving of the square with concrete and the installation of concrete dividers and parking meters in the four quadrants.
