Appaloosa Gelding for Sale in Woodburn, KY

Reno is a 6yo 15hh Appaloosa gelding. He is selling as grade. This gorgeous boy has been a staple in our lesson program & guided trail rides this year! If we have a beginner rider to accommodate, he’s our guy! He is a willing boy & takes on a task easily when you ask him. He has more whoa than go but picks up a nice lope when he’s asked. He also has a nice ground covering walk when asked on the trail making him more suitable to ride with gaited stock. He crosses water, obstacles, mud & trees when you ask him to. He does have some fancy buttons & a nice big stop as well. He’s been a top placer at the fun shows for lesson kids as well! He has a nice back up & will stand perfectly for the judge. Gets along great with other geldings, mares & foals in the pasture. Stands to be caught. Doesn’t mind a bath & loves to be groomed. One of Reno’s pasture buddies decided his tail was a nice chew toy & it is currently shorter than it is in some of his photos, but you can see from those how long it will be when it grows back out. We keep it braided & in a bag & it’s growing quickly. Reno also has an old scar on his front left leg, but it doesn’t affect him at all. Will pass a vet check & soundness exam. Reno was used by previous owners to rope & doctor cattle & boy that stop shows it. He would be great for ranch riding, as he’s currently getting qualified in the top 5 to go to state finals with us. Loads on many types of trailers like a gentleman. Stands great for the farrier & has good hard feet. Will hold shoes for months! We are working on teaching him cues to side pass to a mounting block & drop his head when being bridled & he’s catching on quickly. He will pivot & side pass & is a joy to ride. He works the stockyards weekly & does great getting gates & pushing the cattle. Will handle a long day working or trail riding. We will be sad to see him go but with 7 new foals on the ground we have decided to focus our program more on horses we have raised. Don’t miss your opportunity to own one of the prettiest apps there is! This one will get you noticed & make your trail riding or showing adventures an absolute blast! Call or Text Celsi today to come out & try this beautiful boy at our facility in Woodburn, KY. OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 6/25 @ 5:10 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Woodburn, KY

Woodburn began as a hamlet known as "Mason's Inn," which served as a stop along the stagecoach road that roughly followed what is now U.S. Route 31W. It is believed to have gotten its current name from a nearby forest that had been destroyed by fire. The L&N established a depot at the site in 1859, initially calling it "New Woodburn," but reverting simply to "Woodburn" by 1864. A townsite was platted next to the depot in 1865, and the city was incorporated the following year.
