I would like everyone to meet PAINT’S COMANCHE, a 2-year-old registered TWH gelding standing 15.1 hands high and still growing. He stands on four keg shoes and is up to date on all vaccines and dental work. Around the barn, we just call him COMANCHE. I’ve had COMANCHE for the past 9 months. He was started slow and has had countless hours of groundwork, learning to follow at liberty, park out to mount, come to the mounting block, and desensitize to gunfire, tarps, traffic, dogs, wildlife, and farm animals. He has excelled in every area. COMANCHE has as much trail experience as most 4 or 5-year-old horses, and he’s gentle enough for any level rider. Being a young horse, that’s not something you find often. He has a very docile attitude and is willing to please in every way. He has a smooth four beat gait that you can ride all day long, or he will walk on a loose rein and shake his head in a nice run walk. In the past 9 months, I’ve exposed him to everything from trains to tractors to semis, and he hasn’t spooked at any of it. He keeps his mind on his job and takes care of himself and his rider. He has an amazing rocking chair canter that he steps right into and will idle right back down when asked. He has even been trail ridden and cantered by an 11-year-old boy. COMANCHE has the looks, the control, and the attitude to become someone’s new favorite trail partner with many years ahead to enjoy. He is broke to stand in hobbles or tie out on an overnight line. He’s been on all kinds of trails here in Kentucky, from rocky hills to creeks and even swimming. He is also broke to work single or double in a wagon or cart. When turned out, he tends to stay at the bottom of the pecking order due to his gentle nature. He’s easy to catch and will come right to you with just a little feed. I’ve put together 18 minutes of video footage showing what he’s done over the past 9 months. If you’re looking for a horse you can enjoy for a very, very long time, consider coming to try him out or give me a call with any questions. This guy is one of a kind, and I hope someone enjoys him as much as I have.

About Hustonville, KY
The community was originally known as The Crossroads from its location on trails connecting the Kentucky and Green rivers and the Falls of the Ohio with Logan's Fort (present-day Stanford). It was then known as Farmington and, after the 1818 erection of a post office, Hanging Fork after a local stream named for two bandits who were hanged by Virginia officers rather than escorted back for trial. For three months in 1826, it was known as New Store, but the name then returned to Hanging Fork. When the town was established on February 29, 1836, it was renamed Hustonville after two local landowners; the post office adopted the name the next year. The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1850.
