Draft Mare for Sale in Jeffersonton, VA
Dolce – Extremely rare SILVER BAY draft cross!
16.3h, foaled late 2019, gorgeous, thick, stout athletic mover!
Eligible for registry with the American Warmblood Society & Sport Horse Registry
Dolce is the ultimate dream draft cross mare! This beautiful girl is a very rare and stunning Silver Bay. Silver Bay is a type of bay that causes the stockings to be a lighter color and the mane and tail to come in silver, cream, and white hairs. It is extremely rare in draft cross-bred horses; Dolce is one of a kind! Combined with a large, big blaze, white sock, dapples, and feathers, Dolce is the ultimate beauty queen, and I don’t think you will find another horse like her! Dolce is a sweet girl who loves to be doted on, stands patiently for baths and grooming, is easy to catch, and loves her beauty time. Under saddle, Dolce is an athletic horse, despite her large size, and is easy to ride. She is not wiggly, moves off the leg, and is responsive to cues. She is a beautiful and airy mover with a very smooth and effortless canter and a pretty trot. Her canter is so comfortable and effortless. She picks up her correct leads easily and will lope small circles without issue. She has a good whoa, and we ride her in a simple snaffle. Despite her size, she can be ridden by both smaller riders and larger riders, as she is responsive and not clunky or difficult to get going. She is a large horse, standing at 16.3 hands high, and has a strong, correct build.
We have taken Dolce out of the arena, and she has ridden the same outside the arena as she does in either our indoor or outdoor arenas. She hacks quietly on a loose rein, and she can ride Western or English with a basic neck rein as well. Dolce is a late foal, so she is still 5 years old and not a totally finished horse at this point in her life, but she has a lovely foundation and lots of promise and potential to be developed in pretty much any direction you choose. She has lots of exciting potential for the English disciplines, with enough athleticism to be fine-tuned for Western sports as well, but also suitable for trails and a more laid-back kind of life. Dolce is also trained to drive, although we have not driven her. She would make the most stunning carriage horse! Dolce remains unphased by traffic, machinery, livestock, whips, and other props that we have offered around her. Check out her video to see how she ignored the loud crunches and heavy noise of a bobcat bush-hogging right next to her!
Since she is a rare silver bay and the gene is reported to be dominant in bays (silent in chestnuts like her sire), she offers a chance to potentially be a valuable broodmare as well and pass on her unique color to her babies, making her an asset to any breeding program or small backyard operation as well.
Dolce has no vices and no soundness issues. She is healthy and in the prime of her life. She is currently barefoot with no problems. She has great feet and is well-behaved for the farrier, and does not need stocks for trimming. She is up to date on dental care, vaccines, deworming, farrier care, and Coggins. Dolce is 100% sound with no maintenance required, and she recently underwent a detailed 33-point veterinary inspection, the results of which are available for your review. If assistance is needed with shipping, we can help the buyer locate a reliable shipping service and arrange for Dolce to be transported. All of our horses come with one week of free board, with pro-rated board available for any subsequent time period.
This rare silver bay dream horse of a lifetime is here waiting for you. Don’t miss out on this truly special and unique offering to get the horse of your dreams!
