Draft Gelding for Sale in Boston, MA

Introducing Axel, a striking 12-year-old Belgian x Quarter Horse Draft Cross gelding who’s as much heart as he is horsepower. Standing a proud 16.2 hands, Axel is the kind of horse that turns heads the moment he steps off the trailer. He carries the strong, substantial build of a Belgian with the agility and athleticism of a Quarter Horse—making him a dream ride for anyone looking for a horse that can do it all, and look good doing it. Axel is a true gentleman with a kind, affectionate personality. He’s easy to handle in every way—quiet to groom, clip, tie, bathe, and stands like a statue for the farrier. On the ground, he’s a steady presence. Under saddle, he’s a forward, sensitive ride with lovely, balanced gaits that are incredibly comfortable to sit. He has the stamina to ride for hours without losing his focus or softness, whether you’re covering miles of trail, galloping over cross-country fences, or keeping pace in the hunt field. This is a horse that thrives on purpose. Axel loves the excitement of fox hunting and the challenge of a hunter pace. He’s confident jumping cross-country and bold enough to ride in the first flight, but mannerly and steady enough for second flight. Eventers and fox hunters alike will appreciate his willingness, his rhythm, and his go-all-day attitude. He has the kind of presence and movement that make him a great fit for a taller rider, but his responsiveness and big heart make him suitable for a variety of riders with some experience. Axel is barefoot, sound, and an easy keeper. He lives well in a mixed herd, keeps a clean stall, and has zero maintenance needs. If you’re looking for a bold, beautiful, and honest partner who can do a bit of everything and do it with style—Axel is ready to meet you.

About Boston, MA

Boston's early European settlers had first called the area Trimountaine (after its "three mountains," only traces of which remain today) but later renamed it Boston after Boston, Lincolnshire, England, the origin of several prominent colonists. The renaming on September 7, 1630, ( Old Style) [b] was by Puritan colonists from England who had moved over from Charlestown earlier that year in quest for fresh water. Their settlement was initially limited to the Shawmut Peninsula, at that time surrounded by the Massachusetts Bay and Charles River and connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus. The peninsula is thought to have been inhabited as early as 5000 BC. In 1629, the Massachusetts Bay Colony's first governor John Winthrop led the signing of the Cambridge Agreement, a key founding document of the city.
