Fjord Mare for Sale in Laporte, CO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 6/11 @ 4:20 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Fiona, the Fjord mule, is ready to be your next trail partner! Ride her or pack her anywhere you choose. She is flashy, sure-footed, and has been exposed to riding in the mountains and town. She rides around in an arena – walk, trot, and lope. Take her up and down anything in the mountains. She stands tied, knows how to hobble, and is good with her feet. Fiona is a nice thick mule and able to carry any size rider. She is a rare breed, being a fjord mule, and she really stands out in a crowd. Fiona does well being kept by herself or with others. She does take a little time to warm up to her person, but once she does Fiona is a sweet and loving partner. She rides well alone or in a group and gets along great with dogs underfoot. She is a smart gal, easy to teach, and a fast learner. Come out and try her for yourself! We are excited to see where this pretty lady finds her new home. Thank you in advance from totonkatrailequine. We look forward to everyone’s calls and meeting you. We will return your call if you leave us a text message. No voicemail! Shipping can be arranged anywhere in the States or internationally. Payment is expected the next business day by noon via wire transfer. Thank you again from totonkatrailequine.

About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
