We are so excited to introduce you to Cimarron!! He is a heart-stealer with a coat that mirrors the splendor of a Colorado sunset. At five years old, this red roan Appaloosa gelding isn’t just a feast for the eyes; he’s talented, athletic, extremely smart, and as versatile as they come! We have trail-ridden Cimarron extensively in the mountains, taken him on camping trips, and packed him into territory where he had to handle rough terrain and lots of brush. He’s surefooted, smart on the mountain, and loves his job! We have also ridden Cimarron into town, through crowds, next to the highways near bikes, traffic, dogs, strollers, you name it. Cimarron also has extensive arena work, knows how to frame up and hold himself, has a quick stop and rollback, and has a super smooth jog and lope. He also has the start of flying lead changes, a spin, and a side pass. I carried flags, tarps, and other scary objects around him without issue. Cimarron excels in the sorting pen, knows how to rate a cow, and is excellent at ranch versatility. Cimmaron is extremely versatile and has tons of miles and experience under his belt at only five years old. This horse will go above and beyond in whatever discipline you do with him and has the mindset to be extremely competitive or just a friend and equine companion.

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
