He is 15 hands tall, and around the barn we call him JORDY! Jordy is UTD on all vaccines and due for a new coggins in May. He is voice and body movement trained, making it easy for him to side pass and back up. I have never used a crop or spurs. He has been practicing stepping over and letting you open / close the gate. Jordy responses to whoa and walks at word command. He is very responsive. Jordy has a nice, smooth gait but can also step up into a nice rack (12 mph). He is better with a slightly heavier front shoe. Jordy has a nice slow canter. He can change leads with ease. Jordy can transition from a canter into a gait easily. He loads and unloads easily and has no problems getting clipped or shod. Jordy is an easy keeper; he has lived in a small run out for the past 4 years and has enjoyed it! Although he does stall fine, Jordy doesn’t like alfalfa or clover. He is stout and healthy. In the heat of summer is when Jordy really shines, letting his beautiful dapples show out. Jordy is always eager to learn. He has learned to work around poles and jumps (low). His favorite thing is to hit the trails for an adventure. He will take any position and enjoys leading. He’s clocked over 300 miles riding solo in the past 3.5 years. Jordy does enjoy riding in a group, as well. Just last weekend, Jordy had to take the lead and guide the group past a farm with an ostrich at the fence. Everyone was nervous, but NOT JORDY! He goes over bridges, through water, streams, and through brush. Jordy loves water! He will splash and drink fine out on the trail.He is easy to catch with a bucket filled with just a tiny bit of grain in it. Jordy is fun for everyone. Local children have ridden him in our yard. He takes care of them. He behaves well yet has lots of GO when asked. We use lounge-line when children ride. This horse can learn & do just about anything you want him to do.
