Crossdraw Ranch is proud to offer MQ Sonnys Skidoo! She is a PRETTY 5-year-old registered palomino mare! Talk about smart! You show “Zelda” something once, and she’s got it! Whether you keep practicing it or not, she will retain everything!! Hands down one of the smartest mares I’ve worked with! She will pick you up at the mounting block, or anywhere you can find something to stand on! Zelda has smooth gaits and a soft mouth. She’s a ‘no spurs, no problem’ kind of horse as she’s soft-sided and willing! She neck reins and knows her leads, will side pass and spin! Drop the bridle on this mare, and she will ride the same. You can crack a bullwhip, throw a rope, or drag your friends in a sled! She loves leading down the trail or following another! Water crossing, bikes, strollers, dogs, you name it, and she takes it all in stride! She has the stamina to go all day if you want her to! This mare is pretty versatile and broke enough to take in any direction! If you’re looking for a willing partner to let you dabble and excel in whatever you desire, Zelda is the horse for you! She’s recently started jumping and LOVES IT! Try her today and begin your new adventures on her tomorrow!

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
