Tennessee Walking Gelding for Sale in Crab Orchard, KY
Striker is a gorgeous buckskin gelding with all the looks, brains, and ride. He is 5 years old and stands 14.3 1/2 hands tall. He has beautiful conformation, big dapples, and a jet-black mane and tail. He is gentle, well-trained, and has the sweetest disposition! He is personable and playful, and he loves people! We purchased Striker from the gentleman who raised him. We are his second home, and we have sure enjoyed our time with him. His gait is one of the smoothest, most natural gaits we have ever seen or ridden. He is the kind that you can ride for miles and miles very comfortably in his gait. Striker has been a family horse for us. We have all enjoyed our turns riding him. From camping trips to horse shows, to checking cattle, to coon hunting, to everyday trail rides, Striker has been there for it all.
There is much to say about Striker's gait and its smoothness. When owning a gaited horse, the smoothness and natural travel of the gait is very important. Striker has that from a walk all the way up to 12-14 mph. He is smooth and natural from start to finish and everywhere in between. He requires no special shoeing to achieve this gait as it is all natural.
On top of this, Striker is an excellent trail mount. We’ve taken him on camping trips where we have ridden him daily, and he is the same every time. He has camped out on a high line and does excellent no matter what situation he is put in. He will ride alone or with a group and does an outstanding job navigating all types of terrain. From rocky to sandy to muddy and wet, he is sure-footed and confident. He will go up and down steep hills and crosses logs, ditches, and water with ease.
We’ve used Striker around the farm for things such as checking fences and cattle, moving cattle, opening and closing gates, dragging limbs, or other things from the pasture. He is also used to sheep and has even had goats, cats, and dogs running in and out of the pasture and stall with him. He never pays it any mind and gets along well with other animals and horses. Striker has even been coon hunted off of and helped pack a deer back from hunting as well.
Striker has been taken to local fun shows and was a crowd and judge favorite, as you can see in the videos. He is excellent in and out of the ring and super fun to show. The lights, noise, people, and commotion never phased him, and we brought back several wins! He is also completely traffic-safe and has been ridden to town many times. Striker is easy to catch, as he loves to see you coming. He is truly so sweet, kind, and loving. He loads and hauls great, stands patiently in the cross ties, stands for the farrier, stands to be mounted, and is clean and quiet in the stall. Striker is also good with tarps, guns, and whips, as shown in the video. He has been used to pony other horses and does a great job at that as well.
