Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Mount Hermon, CA

Meet Drifter!!! A 6 yr old Blue Roan QH Gelding that stands 15.1HH, he's a gorgeous, Gelding that is so talented and extremely safe for anyone. Drifter is the perfect horse for any family member no matter your discipline or your level of riding experience. Drifter is a true babysitter and enjoys being the pet on the ranch. He is the horse we throw all the beginners and kiddos on when they come to visit, yet talented enough for the seasoned cowboy or cowgirl and fancy enough for the dressage ring. Everyone from the age of 3 to 78 years old has rode this handsome boy and had success. Its not often you find a horse with his talent, demeanor, gorgeous blue roan color, confirmation, health and loving personality. Drifter is in a class of his own! Drifter is levelheaded and does just about everything you could ask for. He is our star in our lesson program and handy to have around to work cows and calves during breeding season. We have ridden him on and under highway over passes, over all types of bridges, in town on sidewalks and down countless miles of rough terrain. He will go over, under and through all types of obstacles, he ground ties when fixing fences and stands like a statue to mount from the ground or from a mounting block. Drifter will cross creeks, lakes or anything you point him at. Drifter is content riding alone or in a group and loves our time camping overnight. If you could clone or dream up a horse, Drifter would be it! In the arena, Drifter rides around beautifully under Western or English tack. He will collect up on the bridle or lope around on a loose rein. He has a smooth spin around, lopes right off on the correct leads, side passes, knows his lateral movements, he will do a simple lead change and back up with minimal to no pressure. He works off leg cues and voice cues just as easily. You can hop on bareback and brideless and he will lope beautiful circles and stop and back up without hesitation. Drifter is 100% traffic and trail safe. We have used him to park cars at major events and rode him all through town and he’s even rode right next to moving trains and semis without hesitation. Drifter has the “best” ground manners and has a puppy-dog-like personality and loves all the attention he can get. He gladly stands to be saddled, groomed, fly sprayed, bathed and for the farrier. He loads and unloads saddled or unsaddled. He is an easy keeper and always the first to meet you at the gate. Drifter can be stalled or turned out in a herd and he gets along with everyone. Drifter is the kind you can turn him out for an extended period and bring him in, cinch him up tight and lope right off. This horse has absolutely no vices. He is the same horse every single time you saddle him up and he is not barn or buddy sour. We have used him in parades, carried flags at rodeos, fired guns off him, open and closed gates, carried barrels, ponied colts off him, dragged logs to clear trails, hog hunted and even dragged calves to the fire during branding season. Drifter has also been used at playdays in the 6 and under barrels and poles class. Drifter is sold 100% sound and has had a thorough PPE which is available to all potential buyers. He is UTD on shoeing, dental, vaccinations and chiropractic body work. Trial and viewing are available by appointment. Transportation for Drifter can easily be arranged, we have several trusted shipping companies we highly recommend. We will make the buying process as easy as possible. All his papers and the signed transfers are in hand and ready to be transferred to his new family

About Mount Hermon, CA

In 1841, California's first water-powered sawmill was built at the junction of Bean Creek and Zayante Creek by Peter Lassen, Isaac Graham, J. Majors, and F. Hoeger.
