Mercedes is an absolute stunner with quite the personality to go with her! She is so fun and goofy, as well as never missing a beat while riding! Mercedes is a Sooty buckskin mare, completely dappled out!! Mercedes stands at 15 hands and is as safe and trustworthy as they come, making an awesome family and kids horse! We have thoroughly enjoyed every adventure we’ve had with this mare! From being lost up in the mountains in crazy terrain, finding the way back, and taking care of her rider the whole time to camping trips and packing fun! Her previous owners also used her as a horse to pack out their elk and deer! She’s very sturdy and sure-footed and enjoys going all day! We have also had some fun nights in town with her in daylight and nighttime! She’s great around buses, trains, vehicles, dogs, huge crowds, and just about anything else in town you’d think would scare a horse! We have even taken her to lunch, the bars, and coffee drive-thrus! On top of being as solid as they come out on the trail, she makes an ADORABLE kids’ horse and has been an excellent lesson horse and confidence builder for many young and inexperienced riders! She is very simple and easy to ride without a lot of fancy buttons, which makes her easy for new riders. She can also step it up if she has a more advanced rider, and we have even done some sorting and fun playdays with her! She’s very competitive when it comes to sorting when asked and can rate and chase a cow as well as cut it off if needed. We’ve checked fences with her and had to drag out some nasty bulls, which she handled like a pro. This mare has had to deal with lots and took it all without flinching! Watch her video and see how bombproof she really is! We’ve had tarps, flags, pool noodles, and all sorts of weird, fun objects! Mercedes has also done some English and really enjoys the jumping world, in or out of the arena. She has not refused a jump and really enjoys jumping our cross-country course with my little sister! She is such a puppy dog as she is always the first one to meet you and the gate, likes playing with her tongue, and loves treats and spa days. We would love for you to come to meet this absolutely adorable, goofy, and personable mare!

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
