Iris is one of the prettiest paint horses you will ever see! This horse can do anything from English jumping to Western pleasure. We have taken her everywhere, including high up in the mountains to downtown Fort Collins for the great nightlife there, where she encountered everything from big loud trucks racing by, people and their barking dogs, and big bands with people dancing to their music!! Iris can do it all and has the potential to go in any direction you wish to take her. She is versed in English jumping as well as gymkhana events! We have used this horse for everything, including lessons for the kiddos who want to get into riding or the elderly who want a nice trail ride! She has been introduced to cows and has even had some sorting practice! This horse will go after a cow like no other. She has an amazing temperament and will go as slow or fast as you want as the rider. She will hold her leads at the canter, stop on a dime, transition back to the trot, and then walk if you’re looking for something a little slower. She is well fit for a 4H future or a ranch horse that will ride out to check fences or wrangle in some cows! Come check out this diamond of a horse. She’s one you don’t want to miss out on!

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
