Saddlebred Gelding for Sale in Hampstead, MD

Wally is a handsome in your pocket type of guy. He loves attention and will give it right back to you. Super sweet to groom and work around. He has good hard feet and has not needed shoes. Always sound and ready for a trail ride. Wally is an energetic guy who is fun to ride. He is ridden out alone quite often. He loves to ride down to the stream and splash around. He prefers to take the lead but will ride anywhere in the group. No buck, kick or bite. He loves kids and tolerates their shenanigans with grace. Not for beginner rider but safe & patient for lead line. He is easy to pony and can pony other horses too. We ride him in a snaffle. Loads and unloads easily. He is the low man on the totem pole in the pasture. He is good with dogs, cows, sheep and pigs. Trained to electric fence. Field kept with a run in. Easy keeper. Good home a must!

About Hampstead, MD

Between 1736 and 1738, Robert Owings was assigned to "cut a new road as Christopher Gist had marked it" south from Conewago (now Hanover, Pennsylvania) to a point about halfway to Fort Garrison in Baltimore County. The village of Spring Garden became a stage-line stop on the new road and later became the town of Hampstead, named after Hampstead, in England. The first settlers to the area were English immigrants who made their way west from the Port of Philadelphia. They were followed by Scots and Germans. Hampstead was used by farmers from surrounding areas as a center to obtain goods brought from Baltimore and to send produce to markets in Baltimore and Pennsylvania.
