Friesian Gelding for Sale in Georgetown, IL

Bash is 9 years old and full of potential, he has a history (with a past owner) of showing in several different English events including dressage. I have had him for two years and have only ever used him as a trail horse so if you are looking to use him in English riding he would need a refresh more than likely, but I'm sure it wouldn't take him long to remember. She (past owner) had him since he was 2, she had put him through professional training and showed often, she only sold him because she had just had a newborn and was getting out of showing. He does fantastic on trails and isn't spooky and will do what he's asked with little to no fuss. We go through pastures and pass livestock, go through woods, and cross creeks. You can slide off his butt, stand up, lay down, eat lunch, play music, you name it, he's delt with it. I wont say he is bomb proof but I haven't found anything to make him really spook yet. He terrific with kids, my little nephew (3) hugs on his legs, climbs up him, brushes his tail and crawls all over his back and Bash couldn't be more content. He's used to my dogs being around and we have been chased by a beagle before and he didn't even acknowledge it. He currently lives with another gelding, two mini pigs, a bottle calf and barn cats so he is very used to things being near his legs and running under him, he's very passive and is definitely on the lower end of the pecking order. Even though he is so calm and gentle I do not recommend him as an unexperienced beginners horse, he does have times where he can get hot and excited and with his size I think it would be to intimidating for someone inexperienced. A confident knowledgeable beginner would be fine but even an advanced rider would have a lot of fun on him. As for health he has had no issues or accidents to my knowledge, he moves great, and his a very very easy keeper. He stalls well, trailers well, stands magnificently for the farrier, does good for the vet, and really has no vices when it comes to things like that. The only reason I am selling this amazing guy is I just don't use him enough, he was an impulsive purchase because he's so pretty and lovey but he is slowly turning into a pasture pet and he deserves more than that especially at his age and with how much potential he has. I have a smaller older gelding that I use on trails way more and Bash is just so big that I haven't bought a saddle and its really just more convenient to get on my other horse and go. I hate to sell him but want to have his best interest in mind. He needs someone who will use him and give him all their attention, I am selling him for $4,000. I initially paid more for him but I know things are expensive right now and just want him to go to a good home. If you think you and Bash may be a good fit please text me at (two1seven)Two74eight 3 four4. I have tons pics and vids

About Georgetown, IL

Georgetown was established in 1826 and was platted by James Haworth, although the first home was established in 1820 by Henry Johnson. The town may have been named after George Beckwith, since Danville had been named after Dan Beckwith; another possibility is that it was named after James Haworth's son George. The first post office was established in 1828. The Paris and Danville Railroad was built in 1871, and the "Interurban" started carrying passengers between Georgetown and Danville sometime after 1900.
