Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Dade City, FL
Originally purchased in November, 2022, "Beryl" is a sweet, sane and versatile grade Quarter Horse mare. She is approximately 18 years of age and offers an elegant trot, powerful canter and lightening-fast gallop upon request. Her background encompasses both English and Western disciplines, but she seems most comfortable on a trail ride exploring new places. Her behavior both in-hand and in the cross-ties suggests she was well conditioned. She is not spooky, she stands quietly when asked, and she readily lifts her feet for the farrier. Beryl can be strong under the saddle and requires a solid rider with gentle hands...she performs at her best when engaged in a consistent exercise program. She is sound, barefoot and requires little maintenance beyond a regular exercise program, a ration-balancer, and good quality hay. A copy of her Pre-Purchase Exam (October 28, 2022) and full Dental Report (December 14, 2022) are available for review. The promise of an excellent home would allow for some negotiation in price... she is available through no fault of her own and we are committed to finding her a new home where she can thrive and bring joy to her new family members.

About Dade City, FL
An earlier community known as Fort Dade existed nearby in the 1870s and 1880s, but with the arrival of the railroad, the businesses chose to relocate a few miles to the east to be near the railroad. The newer town became known as Dade City. The name became official when the Hatton post office was changed to Dade City on December 18, 1884. Dade City was initially incorporated in 1884 or 1885. That incorporation seems to have been forgotten subsequently, and the city was reincorporated in 1889.
