Morgan Gelding for Sale in Albuquerque, NM

Red Rock is a 16-yr-old gentle, versatile and energetic gaited Morgan. He ties, loads, takes his leads at a lope, and is great with the vet and farrier. He’s got strong, hard hooves and is ridden barefoot or with front boots in rocky terrain. Red is large for a Morgan, standing at 15.2 hands. He’s primarily ridden Western both in the arena and on trails, but he’s also been ridden English. He moves off the leg well and is improving at neck reining. He likes to do patterns and trail obstacles in the arena. His strengths are his smooth, powerful gait and ability to get along well with mares and geldings. He’s also taken a few classes in cow sorting and has passed the state mounted search and rescue certification. He’s had many trail miles on him and won a second-place ribbon in a virtual trail competition. He’s also competed in a local horse show, winning three ribbons at his first show. Red is a very forward horse with much more go than whoa, and covers a lot of ground quickly. He’d appreciate a job. On rare occasions he’s been known to bolt when spooked, which is reflected in the price, but he’s responsive to one-rein stops. This means he’ll require a strong and confident intermediate or advanced rider. He is healthy, sound, current on teeth, worming, farrier, and annual shots. He also is proficient with groundwork, changing gaits with verbal queues. About Albuquerque, NM

Petroglyphs carved into basalt in the western part of the city bear testimony to an early Native American presence in the area, now preserved in the Petroglyph National Monument. The Tanoan and Keresan peoples had lived along the Rio Grande for centuries before European settlers arrived in what is now Albuquerque. By the 1500s, there were around 20 Tiwa pueblos along a 60-mile (97 km) stretch of river from present-day Algodones to the Rio Puerco confluence south of Belen. Of these, 12 or 13 were densely clustered near present-day Bernalillo and the remainder were spread out to the south. Two Tiwa pueblos lie specifically on the outskirts of the present-day city, both of which have been continuously inhabited for many centuries: Sandia Pueblo, which was founded in the 14th century, and the Pueblo of Isleta, for which written records go back to the early 17th century, when it was chosen as the site of the San Agustín de la Isleta Mission, a Catholic mission.
