We call this flashy gelding Padre. He was born on Father’s Day 2018. He stands at 14.1 hands tall and weighs 950 lbs. He is registered with the Gypsy Horse Registry of America. Padre was born and raised on our place. His mom June bug, is a beautiful black and white paint with the kindest mind. His Sire is a flashy palomino registered Gypsy Vanner. We have loved using Padre for trail riding, hunting, packing, and pleasure riding. We ride in the high Uintah Mountains which are very rocky and steep. Padre is always up for the task. He will cross downfall timber and water with ease. He has a good steady pace and keeps up with the big horses. We are proud to say that we raised and did all Padre’s training. He will neck rein, side pass, work off leg pressure and stop off your seat. We have used him at the auction barn, where he is exposed to lots of commotion and chaos. He has a great mind and handles himself very well under pressure. Not only is he fun to ride he also is cowy and fun to rope off of. We have branded calves with him, sorted cattle, and started heeling on him. Padre is a handy size gelding with a big heart. He is happy to meet you at the gate and is very personable. We have thoroughly enjoyed him and know you will too. We love to have people come try our horses before the sale and see for yourself why we love Padre so much. Please give us a call with any questions you might have, Wade 801-391-7940.

About Roosevelt, UT
In 1905, by an act of Congress, the unallotted land of the Ute Indian Reservation was opened to homesteading. Several thousand hopeful 20th-century pioneers congregated in Provo and Grand Junction with the hope of successfully drawing lots for a homestead in a fertile region of the soon-to-be-opened lands. Throughout the fall and winter of 1905-06, the settlers came to the Uinta Basin. The town of Roosevelt was founded in early 1906 when Ed Harmston turned his homestead claim into a townsite and laid out plots. His wife named the prospective town in honor of the president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.
