Andalusian Gelding for Sale in Laporte, CO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM. SALE ENDS ON 8/14 @ 4PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Thor is one of the coolest horses you’ll find, willing to do anything you desire. He is so well-rounded and versatile, and athletic. This guy is Gentle and in your pocket; he will follow you everywhere. We have used him to move cattle countless of miles in the Roosevelt national forest, he jumps amazing cross country or just for fun, he pulls a buggy as well as any, used him for a baby sitter out on the trails, he loves to swim and go anywhere you desire. He is traffic-safe day or night. He will make your farrier happy to come out and your vet. Load and unload him any way you like, as seen in the video. He wears a size two shoe and is big enough to carry any size rider. I was lucky enough to acquire this guy from a good friend, and he was born and raised on his farm. He took care of his children, performed farm chores double and single, and occasionally took the family to town in a buggy. This guy has so many ways you can go with him. It’s incredible! He is great in a mixed herd in the pasture and easy to catch. He is great on the trail alone or in a group. He would make an excellent dressage or vaquero horse with a little more training. He has incredible movements and beautiful gaits, headsets, and reach; this guy floats. He is fun to work cows on as he is not afraid one bit; he will push back. If you are looking for a true all-around horse or something to continue to work for a competition, you will love him. He rides western, English, bareback, probably in ways I do not know; he just doesn’t care; he is happy to be there! He loves being a part of anything! He is as sure-footed as they come and willing to take you places that would make the man from snowy river smile, as all of ours will here at Totonka Trail Equine. We strive to make some of the nicest trail horses out there, and you will not be disappointed with this guy no matter what you choose to do with him. He’s fun for the entire family or take him further into the winner’s circle. More videos are coming; we tried to cover everything from fly spray to mounting and dismounting loading. If you have any other video requests, let us know, and we will gladly accommodate them. We look forward to hearing from you.

About Laporte, CO

The town was first settled by French-Canadian fur trappers and mountain men. It was the gateway to all the mountainous region lying north of the South Platte River and extending from the Plains to the Continental Divide. The trappers built cabins here along the Cache la Poudre River as early as 1828, making it the first white settlement in Larimer County. According to legend, a group of fur traders had earlier stashed supplies (including gunpowder) in a cache along the river near Laporte, and that is how the river got its name. It became the home of Antoine Janis in 1844, who is often noted as the first permanent white settler north of the Arkansas River.
