Pony Gelding for Sale in Fort Collins, CO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM. SALE ENDS ON 8/13 @ 5PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit. Speckles is an adorable black and white spotted mini with two glass blue eyes. She is SUPER gentle in all aspects, easy to catch, sweet, respectful of small children on the ground, and just loves attention. She is good with her feet for the farrier, and kids can pick them up and out easily. Speckles is more Whoa than go, which makes her ideal for a beginner child that doesn’t want to go too fast and wants to feel safe. She does have to get up and go when asked, but it’s not her favorite thing to do. She rode out with us on a trail ride with the big horses and kept up just fine with a ground-covering walk. She crosses water and bridges, isn’t spooky, and listens to cues well. She would make a great first pony for a young child. The only reason she’s for sale is our son has outgrown her, and she deserves a smaller child to teach and love. Contact me with any questions you may have or to make an appointment to come meet her!

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
