Thoroughbred Gelding for Sale in Medford, OR

Charlie is a talented and energetic gelding with a big personality to match. He was originally from the track but then was trained by Cory Odle to be a pleasure horse as a gift to fulfill a young girl's dream. She grew up with him going on trail rides and riding with friends. When Charlie needed a tune up, he went to Cory Odle for a month or so and she took lessons on him, usually at the beginning of the riding season. He is responsive to the bit and able to walk, trot and canter on the proper leads. He side passes, backs, and leg yields at a walk and trot. He stands for the farrier, loads, clips, bathes, lounges, round pens, ponies with another horse, and ties. He is highly intelligent and likes to entertain himself with horse toys. He has been spotted by the neighbors playing tug of war with his pasture mate. Charlie would make a great mount for an intermediate rider due to his energy level but he does settle into a relaxed ride after a few minutes. He is not spooky but will challenge a novice rider. He has not been ridden for a while due to his current owner's health conditions, but I will start a tune up on him in the next couple of days. I would be happy to show him to you if you are interested. Please contact us and we will make arrangements.

About Medford, OR

In 1883, a group of railroad surveyors headed by S. L. Dolson and David Loring arrived in Rock Point, near present-day Gold Hill. They were charged with finding the best route through the Rogue Valley for the Oregon and California Railroad. Citizens of neighboring Jacksonville hoped that it would pass between their town and Hanley Butte, near the present day Claire Hanley Arboretum.
