Huckleberry is a 7 year old grade gelding standing at 15.1 hands! Previous owner used him as a ranch horse in Missouri! We bought him last September of 2020! He is very gentle and has a sweet personality! No bad habits! Will ride in the arena and knows how to take his leads! He side pass, back up, open/closed gates, neck rein, etc! Well mannered on the ground and can ride in a group or alone! Stands great tied at the trailer, tacking, baths, fly spray, loading and unloading the trailer! He picks all 4 feet up and stand well for the farrier! He gets along well with other horses! He has a nice soft rein to him and is soft in his mouth. About Douglass, KS
The first settlement was made at Douglass in 1869. Douglass is named for its founder, Joseph W. Douglass, a storeowner who was fatally shot at the town site in 1873 while apprehending a suspected chicken thief. Douglass was incorporated as a city of the third class in 1879. In 1877, the Florence, El Dorado, and Walnut Valley Railroad Company built a branch line from Florence to El Dorado, in 1881 it was extended to Douglass, and later to Arkansas City.
