Quarab Mare for Sale in Oakley, MI
4 year old GRADE mare Rose is green broke, would make an awesome kids horse with more miles. She’s around 13hh I would guess but can measure her if needed. She has about 10 rides so far and has done well with everything I’ve thrown at her. She stands well for the ferrier, stands to be saddled and mounted. She’s not too spooky when introduced to new things. I have hauled her to barrel races, and rodeos, and rode her around the grounds and she took it all very well. I currently do not have any videos of her under saddle but can get some this weekend.
About Oakley, MI
Originally the area was called Mickleville. Philip Mickle, who owned a tavern there in 1842, became the first postmaster of Mickleville on March 12, 1856. That post office was moved to the hamlet of Havana on April 18, 1860, which was two miles southeast of Oakleys present location. In 1868, Andrew Huggins plotted and recorded the village of Oakley and the post office was moved from Havana. It was named for Judge Oakley of Dutchess County, New York, a relative of one of its citizens.
