Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Taylor, TX

AngelasStomry has recovered from neglect and is now being worked with on the ground by a youth handler. It seems like she’s had good handling in her life. She stands tied, stands for grooming, and is good with having her hooves handled. She also longes. She’s been learning to navigate trail obstacles in hand and is doing well! Her handler reports that she is extremely smart and that she is an in your pocket kind of horse! She’s been evaluated under saddle by a trainer. She stood well for mounting and the trainer says she neck reins extremely well. She has had a lot of training, neck reining well, spinning, and listening well. The trainer who evaluated her thinks she was probably a good working horse or performance horse in her younger life. Due to her age and arthritis, she is available for light to moderate riding: no jumping, play days, barrel racing, strenuous trails, ranch work, etc. She would be a great learner horse or lesson horse, or great for someone who wants to pleasure ride some. She is missing several teeth, so she needs her grain soaked. She also has prominent withers and will need a well-fitted quality saddle pad and well-fitted saddle to keep her comfortable.

About Taylor, TX

In 1876 the Texas Land Company auctioned lots in anticipation of the arrival of the International-Great Northern Railroad when Taylor was founded that year. The city was named after Edward Moses Taylor, a railroad official, under the name Taylorsville, which officially became Taylor in 1892. Immigrants from Moravia and Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) and other Slavic states, as well as from Germany and Austria, helped establish the town. It soon became a busy shipping point for cattle, grain, and cotton. By 1878, the town had 1,000 residents and 32 businesses, 29 of which were destroyed by fire in 1879.
