Paint Stallion for Sale in Dillsburg, PA

Miss Lilly is a 14yo gorgeous tri-colored paint mare standing 15H. Lilly belonged to a little girl and she got another horse and Lilly was left standing in a pasture for several years. She is back in consistent work and is excelling as a trail horse. I have video of Lilly wtc in the ring but we are homing her as a trail horse because that's what she excels in. Please spare my time and yours if you want a show ready ring horse. She is a trail horse. Could she be a ring horse...Of course with work.....But she is a trail horse as of now. So if you watch the videos you will see a green horse because she has not been doing arena work! That being said anyone can ride this horse on the trail! Kids, husband's, friends....Safe, safe, safe! Lilly is barefoot and would only require shoes or boots if you are doing heavy rocky trail riding and is well mannered for the farrier. She’s turned out with mares and geldings currently and is lower on the totem pole. Lilly cross ties, bathes, loads, etc. Gets right on and off the trailer and ties to the trailer. Stands quietly in the cross ties and has excellent ground manners. She is not herd sour and does not mind if you bring her in the barn and she’s the only horse in the barn. She has been like this since the first day we turned her out with the herd. Many new horses take a few days to settle in but not this mare. She was calm from the day we got her. She spent her first week with us in a stall with minimal turn out and then went out with a herd of 4 other horses and settled right into her new routine. Lilly is a quiet bombproof husband type horse. I would not hesitate to put a beginner on this horse and take them out on the trail. Lilly is very sweet and loves attention. Lilly loves to be groomed and loved on. She doesn’t have any vices such as biting, kicking, rearing, bucking, bolting, cribbing, etc. We have tested her with tarps, bouncing balls, flags, etc and she doesn’t mind any of it and is not a spooky horse. She is traffic safe. Walked right up to a blowing balloon at Codorus. We have ridden her on trail rides off the property on the road through the gamelands. She has had horses trot off in front of her and does not get hot or excited. I cantered away from her at Codorus and she was just happy walking or trotting along as I got further and further away from her but picked up a canter when asked. She leads or follows on the trail. We even got her to go into the lake at Codorus which scares many horses that are not afraid of water. She did take some encouraging but that’s a very scary lake with the waves making noise and splashing up on the shore but she willingly went into the water on a windy day. Crosses logs. When we took her to Codorus she was in heat and she was the same horse, quiet and well mannered. And she’s not a tester. She doesn’t try to turn around on the trail and go back to the barn or get away with things to test you. She happily just goes along. She is the same on or off property and does not get up not even for the first few minutes. Trail ready and really excels on the trails. We have video of riding Lilly in the riding arena. Lilly is well behaved in the arena but is out of shape and unbalanced. She would not be something you could get today and be in the show ring next week, however, if someone wanted to put some time into her, I could see her as a beginner lesson horse or a beginners show horse because she is really laid back and easy to handle. We just don’t have the time to put into her to finish her training. And it’s not that she won’t ride in the arena, she just needs work on bending and staying in the corners. I found a real gem with this girl but we just don’t have the need for an extra trail horse and with broken thumbs and pregnancy in the barn, I don’t have anyone to give her the training she would need to be a lesson horse for us. My loss is your gain. And I truly believe that this is one of those rare find horses that really is beginner safe on the trail. I can’t say enough good things about this girl. And I’m not a fan of mares! If you’re looking for a quiet trail horse, this is your girl! Video available upon request. Negotiable and good home a must.
