Quarter Horse Stallion for Sale in Bastrop, TX
This 2 year old very gentle gelding is an absolute pleasure to be around. He is caught easily, even from big pastures, and has been handled exessively by myself and my 7 kids aged 3 to 16. He knows his basic groundwork, we trained him using natural horsemanship methods. Shilo has been thoroughly desensitized, he accepts the saddle, and I also had my kids sit on him. He is ready to start, will be no trouble, a very smart and fast learner. This gelding is bred to perform, he is athletic and well built. Shilo is very well mannered, no vices whatsoever. He stands for farrier, bathes and loads. Current on farrier and new coggins. This beauty is ready to roll. For more info, and for full pedigree pls visit our website.
About Bastrop, TX
Spanish soldiers lived temporarily at the current site of Bastrop as early as 1804, when a fort was established where the Old San Antonio Road crossed the Colorado River and named Puesta del Colorado. Bastrop's namesake, Felipe Enrique Neri, Baron de Bastrop, was a commoner named Philip Hendrik Nering Bogel, who was wanted for embezzlement in his native country of the Netherlands. In Texas, he assisted Moses and Stephen F. Austin in obtaining land grants in Texas and served as Austin's land commissioner. In 1827, Austin located about 100 families in an area adjacent to his earlier Mexican contracts.
