Trakehner Mare for Sale in Sterling, IL
Her dam is my favorite mare, Tansanita Vom Castell, the dam of several
OUTSTANDING foals who are excelling in dressage. She is from impeccable
performance bloodlines, and has fabulous Trakehner "type".
I waited 4 years for this filly, and she is only being offered to
a perfect home. Trudy's sire is my (deceased) thoroughbred stallion,
Wicklow Highlands. He had almost 100 starts and over $628, 000 in earnings
on the racetrack in a long, successful career with an incredible history
of soundness. After "retiring" he was entered into retraining
and proved to be incredibly well - tempered, and extremely willing and
trainable. He has stamped his first (and only) foal crop with beautifully
balanced conformation, great legs, GORGEOUS heads and well - set necks,
and ALL of his foals are extremely people - oriented and athletic. The
combination of the thoroughbred influence with the quality of the
Trakehner bloodlines is spectacular.
About Sterling, IL
In 1834, Hezekiah Brink built the first cabin in what was to become Harrisburg. Two years later, William Kirkpatrick settled downstream in an area that became Chatham. In 1838, Harrisburg and Chatham merged to become the Town of Sterling in an effort to attract the county seat. The name "Sterling" was given to the new town in honor of Major James Sterling, who distinguished himself in the area during the Blackhawk War in 1832. On February 16, 1857, Sterling was incorporated as a city by state law.
