Quarter Horse Stallion for Sale in Newton, NJ

Great project horse offered for sale. She has 4 months of solid professional training (done in 2016). Smooth gaits, and very smart. She does tend to over think everything and react first then think, but calms down fairly quickly. Isn’t really scared of much, will go through whatever you point her towards, mud, rivers, hills, swamp, you name it she’ll walk through it or over it. Enjoys jumping. Does not like things coming up behind her. No kick or bite. She is very fast, reason for sale is she doesn’t break well, and bolted twice. Will need an experienced rider with calm hands, does not like for her rider to be in her mouth. Moves off leg pressure and neck reins. Only ridden western, had an English saddle on her once, she was not amused :O) She needs a job and to be ridden consistently, I don’t have the time she needs. When she came home from the trainer she was amazing, but only riding on weekends is not enough for her, she has more than enough energy to spare, can be ridden all day and still not be tired. She knows how to hobble and stand tied (just don’t leave the rope where she can untie it because she knows how, she won’t go anywhere but will just stand there untied, she will also untie her neighbors if in reach) She is about 14.1 – 14.2 (still seems to be growing) and might be between 4 and 5 years old. She is very curious, will touch everything that’s near her, and is so funny to watch and fun to ride. I just don’t have the time for her that she needs to work on the breaks. She lunges and knows ground work, was learning to side pass but teaching breaks took precedent once she decided that she didn’t want to stop anymore and enjoyed running more. Would be a great barrel horse. I used her as my trail horse and would ride all over the Paulinskill trail with her, on a trail ride she can be anywhere in a group, front, middle or back, but at a canter will always try to pass and wants to break from a trot into a canter, she will go out alone but is very nervous by herself. For more pictures or any questions please email me, she is located in Fredon, NJ email is hanna.hemming@gmail.com

About Newton, NJ

Newton is located near the headwaters of the east branch of the Paulins Kill, a 41.6-mile (66.9 km) tributary of the Delaware River. In October 1715, Colonial surveyor Samuel Green plotted a tract of 2,500 acres (1,000 ha) at the head of the Paulins Kill, then known as the Tohokenetcunck River, on behalf of William Penn. This tract, which would not be settled for approximately 30–35 years, was part of the survey and division of the last acquisition of Native American land by the West Jersey Board of Proprietors. At the time of Green's survey, northwestern New Jersey was populated with bands of the Munsee, the northern branch of the Lenape Native Americans. The first recorded European settler within the boundaries of present-day Newton was a German Palatine immigrant named Henry Hairlocker who arrived sometime before 1751 when he appears in Morris County records as receiving a tavern license.
