About Chauncey, OH

Chauncey was laid out in 1839. The village was named for Elihu Chauncey, a businessperson in the mining industry. A post office called Chauncey has been in operation since 1838. As of the census of 2010, there were 1,049 people, 423 households, and 262 families living in the village. The population density was 1,589.4 inhabitants per square mile (613.7/km 2).
