Handsome Percheron Gelding

Doc is an extremely handsome draft cross gelding with a sweet and silly personality! He is solid black with just a little white on his forehead. He is most likely a Percheron x Quarter Horse. He stands about 16 hands tall and is 15 years old. He is a stocky, big horse! Doc is crazy fun to be around! He has a sweet puppy dog demeanor and just wants to be loved on! He is very easy to catch in the pasture and loves to be around people. He will follow you like a shadow! He is ready to be your next best friend! Doc is a really easy keeper, and doesn’t require much feed to hold his weight. He can be a little pushy at feed time! He loves his grain! Typical of draft horses! He has been pastured with mares, geldings, donkeys, and goats and does great with everybody! Not a mean bone in his body. He has also been stalled before and does fine with that too. Doc does well for grooming, bathing, saddling, mounting and does pretty good for the farrier too! He loads in trailers with little hesitation and backs off well. Doc has been ridden western and is a good boy for trail rides. He’s also great in an arena. However, he would be best suited for an experienced rider. I would still consider him green at this point. Full disclosure- He is a very sweet, good boy, but he is smart enough to take advantage of a rider who isn’t really sure what they’re doing!! He will test you, but once he knows who’s boss he is very easy to handle and ride. Doc is not a spooky horse by any means. He has been ridden around cars, four wheelers, bikes, farm equipment and dogs without a problem. He will cross water, bridges and rocks. Doc would make someone a beautiful mount that is sure to get you noticed! He is a big boy with a heart of gold, ready to take you whatever direction you desire. We intended to teach Doc to drive as well and are currently working with him, but not selling him ready to pull a carriage/cart at this time.
