Friesian Mare for Sale in Richmond, TX

Ebony is an attractive mare, with the flashy movement necessary for the dressage ring in a great size for a lady or junior. We would currently recommend her for sale to a professional or an amateur with a trainer purely due to her age and level of training. She currently stands around 14.2hh and we do not expect her to exceed 15.2hh when she has finished growing. She is friendly but can be timid around new people until she gets to know them. She is working with a trainer on the ground several days a week in preparation for being lightly started as well as being handled on a daily basis to increase her confidence. Currently she is halter broke, stands in cross ties for grooming and farrier. She is barefoot, and up to date on trimming, worming, shots and has a current coggins. She has been saddled and round pen worked with a saddle on and backed a couple of times. This mare is smokey black and can produce buckskin - she is out of a cremelo mare, Life's Blue Diamond, (saddlebred X TB) who is a known buckskin producer and our own Freisian Stallion Hermes Photos and video available on our Facebook page and website. Price is subject to change with increased training.

About Richmond, TX

In 1822, a group of Austin's colonists went up the Brazos River, stopping near present-day Richmond where they built a fort called "Fort Bend". Named after Richmond, England, the town was among the 19 cities first incorporated by the short-lived Republic of Texas, in 1837. Early residents of the city include many prominent figures in Texas lore such as Jane Long, Deaf Smith, and Mirabeau Lamar, who are all buried in Richmond. On August 16, 1889, the town was the site of the "Battle of Richmond", an armed fight culminating the Jaybird–Woodpecker War, a violent feud over post-Reconstruction political control of Fort Bend County. The mayor from 1949 until his death in 2012 was Hilmar Moore.
