Appaloosa Gelding for Sale in New York, NY
Breeding, color, height and disposition. Bella is a 16 hand, true buckskin mare. No white on this mare. Only selling her, because I need to downsize and I have three others that belong to my children that need to be ridden and finished. I purchased her last year from a person who bred her mare and raised this horse. Bella has been ridden on about twenty day and weekend rides. She is great in the woods and in open fields among cattle. Not spooky. Has a very friendly disposition and is anxious to be around you and wants attention. She is light in the mouth and responds to leg pressure. She neck and ploy reins. She does not push to be in the lead and is perfectly fine riding with quarter horses. She will mope along and is happy to speed up and ride out with a gaited group. She is not completely set in her gaits and needs someone with patience and time to work with her. She is very smart and willing to learn. She has a tendency to not stand still when mounting. After working with her a few moments each time mounting, she will stand still. During the Wisconsin glaciation, 75,000 to 11,000 years ago, the New York City region was situated at the edge of a large ice sheet over 2,000 feet (610 m) in depth. The erosive forward movement of the ice (and its subsequent retreat) contributed to the separation of what is now Long Island and Staten Island. That action also left bedrock at a relatively shallow depth, providing a solid foundation for most of Manhattan's skyscrapers.
