~Phoenix~ is an attractive, athletic colt with a strong topline, powerful
hip and bold movement. With a predisposition for jumping and a compliant,
gentle attitude this colt is an outstanding prospect for the professional
jumper rider but also has an attitude suitable for an amateur rider.
Phoenix is sired by Prezioso S, the Oldenburg Grand Prix Jumper Stallion.
He was Reserve Circuit Champion at the 2005 Winter Equestrian Festival
in Wellington. Prezioso S also qualified for the Bundeschampionate in
2002 and the World Championships. Phoenix is out of Amazone, who boasts
lineage including Admiral I, Gotthard and Furioso II.
This colt has a pedigree rich with accomplished jumpers, which
is reflected in his short back and powerful drive from behind and
complimented by an outstanding temperament. We fully expect that Phoenix
will be a successful jumper prospect and will remain to be a pleasurable
horse to train and work with.
About Orlando, FL
There are very few archaeological sites in the area today, except for the former site of Fort Gatlin along the shores of modern-day Lake Gatlin south of downtown Orlando. In 1823, the Treaty of Moultrie Creek created a Seminole reservation encompassing much of central Florida, including the area which would become Orlando. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 authorized relocation of the Seminole from Florida to Oklahoma, leading to the Second Seminole War. In 1842 white settlement in the area was encouraged by the Armed Occupation Act. After Mosquito County was divided in 1845, Fort Gatlin became the county seat of the newly created Orange County in 1856.
