About Hospers, IA

Hospers was founded in 1872 when the St. Paul and Sioux City Railroad was extended to that point. The city was named for Henry Hospers, an Iowa banker and developer, who got many Dutch immigrants and Dutch settlers from other parts of the country to relocate to Sioux County.
