Beautiful Draft Cross

Butters is a 7 year old, perch/quarter horse cross. He stands about 17 hh at the withers, not sticked. He is one of the sweetest horses and loves people. He’s always sad to see them go when they leave. During June-July I worked with him. The first month was spent doing ground work and gaining his respect. He is very respectful on the ground, lunges both ways, walk/trot/canter. With or without lunge line. He also yields hindquarters and backs up. He stood tied for hours, loved being brushed, stood for saddling and opened his mouth for the bit. He picked up all four feet and loaded well. Under saddle he was going w/t/c. He was unbalanced under saddle in the canter but he was much better by the end. He had a very soft mouth and was responsive. I used mostly voice commands but he can move off leg as well. I sent him home after 2 months of work and his rider was a beginner. The guy got scared and Butters dumped him. Then Butters was tossed out to pasture. He now has started to buck but with the right person, he will be back to the amazing horse he once was. He’s not a bad horse just need to be shown who’s boss and he’s totally fine. Has had beginners on him but not for the last while. He is skittish and scared. When I was working with him, he showed an interest in jumping. He has floating gaits and is a dream to ride.
