Tennessee Walking Gelding for Sale in Black Forest, CO

If you have ever wanted a safe horse to ride that you can trust your life with, here he is! Meet Huckleberry, a 3-year old unregistered Tennessee Walking Horse. STOP!!!! Most of you will leave this ad because he is 3, but I am telling you that you will NOT find an 8-year-old this well broke. He is so gentle and has such a calm, easy-going nature. He is the type of horse that you can put beginners on, or when company comes over, he is the horse that will take care of a new rider. He will ride absolutely anywhere that you ask him to go. Huckleberry can pack out on hunting trips or take the kids around on trail rides. I’ve ridden him down sidewalks, across bridges, up steps… will go anywhere you ask! He has been a pleasure to have around and is always eager to please! Huckleberry has an outstanding smooth and natural four-beat gait from 4-12mph. He is as smooth as any horse that you will sit on and is smooth for any rider. You won’t find a trail that’s too rough or tough for him either; he’ll go through anything you ask him to. Huckleberry walks when climbing the steep hills. He goes patiently and easily goes down the rocky mountainsides. Crosses water, bridges, logs, and anything else that might be in your way. He has been ridden around dogs and other livestock. Loads and stands for farrier as well.

About Black Forest, CO

The history of the Black Forest area is closely paralleled by that of a larger area traditionally known as the "Pineries". The area originally extended from Divide, Colorado (now known as the town of Monument, Colorado), through the present planning area and east along the Platte-Arkansas Divide to a point where the Ponderosa Pines thinned out. Altogether the Pineries encompassed a 1,000 square mile area. Although the origin of the name is not clear, that portion of the Pineries north of Colorado Springs became known as the "Black Forest" by around the turn of the century. Arrowheads and charcoal pits provide evidence that the planning area was occupied by Native Americans at least 800 years ago.
