Tennessee Walking Mare for Sale in San Diego, CA

Up-to-date on everything! Teeth, new shoes, vaccinations, Coggins and Health certificate! She is at her best behavior following other gaited horses on trail, and she gets along well with other horses. She has a comfortable slow gait, She has a nice lope, and can cover a lot of ground. She will lead a trail ride, but has a tendency to make sudden stops, or she turn in the opposite direction, and has bolted once only when she was in the lead. I used one rein to turn her head and stop her. A confident rider a must or trainer if you plan to lead a trail ride or ride alone. She’s had months of obstacle course training: walks through curtains, over tires and walks back off a platform. She has been on trail with deer, coyotes, squirrels and rabbits. She has walked through camp areas, around RVs, tents, bicycles, and moving vehicles. Low flying helicopters have buzzed directly above under saddle, and she wasn’t bothered, even with horses near us running scared. She has spooked at: Loud quads, loud motorcycles(not the quiet ones), the sudden appearance of 20 plus bicycles zooming around the corner. Behavior issues I have encountered include:: kicking out towards the back when approached with a fly sheet near her hind end, or when sweeping mats near her hind end. Her kick was not directed at me, but was a powerful high kick towards her back end. I have put a fly sheet on her every day regardless. and I did for 60 days straight without incident. She does have a very good natured side, and will put her head down very low to take the bit, and for the fly mask, and fly spray does not bother her. She has been for me an “in your pocket” horse, and will follow me around. She stands for the farrier and never had issues with him. The veterinarian did call her a “fidgety” horse, but after lungeing her he said she was fine to work with. Under saddle: she parks out beautifully at the mounting block, hitching post and wash rack, all I do is tap her left shoulder, she will stand still when dismounting, and she’ll stand patiently while we wait for other riders to saddle up. I do not have experience riding and handling TWHs. According to the breeder, she would make a nice brood mare with her “top of the line” bloodlines. A 5k stud fee was paid to bring her into the world. She is not a child’s horse, and she’s not a beginner’s horse.
