Paint Gelding for Sale in Fort Collins, CO

“Dixon” is one of the sweetest horses I have had the pleasure of working with. He is the first to greet you at the gate, loves people and children, and will cuddle with you for days. He has the kindest eyes and the color everyone longs for. He is 15.3hh and is flashy as they come. Dixon was a finished rope horse when he was younger and had the calmest personality in new situations. Been hauled all over. Loves trails and riding out. Will go as slow or fast as you ask for. Rides out alone, bareback, stand on him, hang off him, bridleless, you name it. He does it. He is very soft in the bridle, neck reins like a dream, sidepasses with ease, and is very smooth to ride. He is like a big rocking chair. He is the same horse with time off; he is smart and remembers everything you teach him. Loads right in the trailer and stands tied quietly for days no matter where you are. No maintenance at all, doesn’t even need shoes. UTD on all shots, worming, and farrier care.

About Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
