Warmblood Gelding for Lease in Manhattan, KS

$300 - $600 /month Price depending on full vs half lease Mountain Topper "Kopper" is a 17.1h 17 year old IRSH that is looking for his showing partner for this coming season. He does have some spook to him so a confident intermediate/advanced rider is preferred. He stands well for the farrier, vet, and clipping. He loads into trailers easily. He will show well fresh off the trailer without any schooling. He has a dog like personality and loves treats, grooming, and grazing. Loves to show off and jump with the right confident rider on his back. Weekly lessons are recommended. Jumping is capped at 3'3. He is brave at the smaller fences, and is a good horse to help build your confidence moving up in jump height. He will hack out on trails alone or with friends, enjoys riding in fields as well as the arena. Owner would prefer for Kopper to remain at the barn he is at currently, but off property lease is up for negotiation to the right person. About Manhattan, KS

Before settlement by European-Americans in the 1850s, the land where Manhattan sits was home to Native American tribes. Most recently, from 1780 to 1830 it was home to the Kaw people (also known as the Kansa). The Kaw settlement was called Blue Earth Village (Manyinkatuhuudje). It was named after the river the tribe called the Great Blue Earth River – today known as the Big Blue River – which intersected with the Kansas River by their village. Blue Earth Village was the site of a large battle between the Kaw and the Pawnee in 1812.
