Arabian Gelding for Sale in Berthoud, CO

Cochise is a brilliant performance prospect who is looking for his forever person to finish him out. He was started as a 4-yr-old and was ridden on trails, moved cows, rode over obstacle courses, and even jumped a few short cavalettis. Unfortunately, the past few years, he's mostly been a pasture ornament, so he needs a refresher. When he's worked with, he picks things back up incredibly quickly, but he would love to be with someone active and consistent to explore new challenges with. He's incredibly smart, athletic, willing, and sensitive, and would make an awesome endurance horse. He's barefoot and sound, has no health/soundness issues. He measures about 14.2hh, and is not registered. Cochise has no bite, kick, buck, but he has reared a couple of times. Videos available upon request. Cochise needs a confident and experienced person, and the right match for him is incredibly important to me. I'm sorry, but I won't sell him as a barrel horse.

About Berthoud, CO

White settlers first came to the present-day Berthoud area in the early 1860s, following the Colorado Gold Rush. Many settlers filed homestead claims, but most bellied up and left the valley to hardier souls who ranched and farmed the arid prairie that straddled the river bottom. In 1872, a miner-turned-rancher from Central City, Colorado, Lewis Cross, staked the first homestead claim where the Colorado Central Railroad planned to cross Little Thompson creek. When the tracks were laid through the valley in 1877 a depot, section house, and water tank were installed at this strategic site. The tiny settlement known as Little Thompson was renamed Berthoud in honor of Edward L.
