He is a big stout horse but for every inch he is tall and every ounce he weighs he is just as sweet and gentle! He is a big ol teddy bear to handle. When it comes to riding, Jake will impress there as well! He has everything that folks look for… true 4-beat gait that anyone will love! He is not spooky whether you ride him on the highways or on the trails. He is safe around all types of traffic and has been ridden in several states on camping trips. Jake is very confident and is not scared to ride alone and will lead the group with no issues. He has a very nice short lope! Jake neckreins, sidepasses, backs and lays down for mounting. We have used Jake to squirrel hunt off of, lead and handled dogs off of him and shot hundreds of times off his back in all directions. It doesn’t matter when or where you shoot or if a dog runs under him and tangles his legs up in the leash, he will keep calm and not get upset.
