Paint Mare for Sale in Snohomish, WA

Ruby’s a beautiful chestnut mare with a loving personality to die for. Stands while tied, loads in the trailer like a dream (only in slants), falls asleep while the farrier’s doing her feet, meets you at the gate, whinnies when you call for her, bathes nicely. She has a few wiggles at first with cold water, but as long as you start at her feet and work your way slowly up to her shoulder and back, she’ll be okay. Has a lovely slow walk and jog, can extend for English if asked. Has had some previous work at the canter, but needs more time. Will walk through puddles and water with some encouragement. Is not herd bound, though can be a little fussier when by herself. Gets along great with other horses, low on the totem pole. Prefers having buddies instead of being alone. She’s okay with other animals, not sure about cows. Dogs are not her favorite, but if they leave her alone, she’s fine. Has show experience in Snohomish County 4H. Was ridden both English and Western in Beginning Green Horse. At her first show she received Green Horse English High Point, two 2nds, two 3rds, and one 5th. Can be messy in stalls, but is a good girl. She’d rather prefer to have an area to stretch her legs out in. All I ask for anybody that is interested is no jumping and barrels. Her legs aren’t strong enough for such hardcore activities. Small cross rails on the rare occasion are fine, though I don’t know if she’ll jump them! She’s much more comfortable in a western saddle than an English saddle. Can be ridden in a snaffle, and loves the pressure of a bosal. I will be asking for your vets info, farrier’s info, and your trainers info, if you have any. Best suited for an intermediate/advanced rider with a trainers assistance. Please no tire kickers! This is my heart horse. The only reason I’m looking to sell her is because I’m super busy with my senior year of high school and do not have the time she needs at the moment.

About Snohomish, WA

The Snohomish River Valley was originally inhabited by the Snohomish people, a Coast Salish tribe who lived between Port Gardner Bay and modern-day Monroe. An archaeological site near the confluence of the Snohomish and Pilchuck Rivers has indications of human habitation that began as early as 8,000 years before present. The Snohomish had contact with white explorers in the early 19th century, with their name recorded as "Sinnahamis" by John Work of the Hudson's Bay Company, among the first to also use the name to describe the river. The Snohomish were signatories of the Point Elliott Treaty in 1855, which relocated the tribe to the Tulalip Indian Reservation. In the early 1850s, the territorial government planned to construct a military road connecting Fort Steilacoom to Fort Bellingham, with a ferry crossing of the Snohomish River at Kwehtlamanish, a winter village of the Snohomish people.
