Rocky Mountain Mare for Sale in Dwight, KS
13.3 hh Palomino Rocky Mountain/Standardbred mare rescued from a kill facility in Colorado. Loads. hauls well. We bought her and intended to break her, but I'm handicapped and she's too skittish for me to work with. She has a blaze, star and snip, and white socks, and a long soft flaxen rippled mane and tail. Pretty horse, but too much for me to work with. She's with my 33 yr old Appaloosa event horse, and keeps him going strong, as he thinks she's his herd!
About Dwight, KS
Dwight had its start in the year 1887 by the building of the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway through that territory. It was named for Dwight Rathbone, the owner of the original town site. Dwight was incorporated as a city in 1903. The Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway was foreclosed in 1891 and taken over by Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway, which shut down in 1980 and reorganized as Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas Railroad, merged in 1988 with Missouri Pacific Railroad, merged in 1997 with Union Pacific Railroad. Most locals still refer to this railroad as the "Rock Island".
