Welsh Pony Mare for Sale in Flemington, NJ

"Ponita" is a fancy and typey Welsh pony mare that has been used in our lesson program. She rides alone or in a group. She is definitely a push ride in the ring and a forward ride (but easily controllable) in the trails. She will lead or follow. She is the ultimate trail machine. She loves the trails and keeps up with the big horses no problem! She is a very nice mover and moves just like a horse. In fact she is braver than all of our horses and has no problem taking the lead past a "scary" object. Nothing phases her. Bikes, dogs, crowds, bridges, covered bridges, cars, tractors, etc are no problem for her! Rides english or western. She has been trailered all over to different parks and loads easily. Has been to shows, ridden on the beach, and hunter paces. She is an easy keeper and doesn't require grain (unless you are riding her a lot) or shoes. She crosses water, jumps logs on the trail, and is not mare-ish. No bad habits but requires an intermediate rider as she sometimes will try to root her head down which can unseat a dead beginner. On the lead, she is safe for dead beginners and pony rides. She can be worked down to a beginner if she is worked consistently. She does not buck, rear, kick, bite, or take off. On the trails, if the other horses gallop off in front of her, she will not even break into a canter unless you ask her! She stands great for the vet and farrier. Ties very well and stands fine for grooming and tacking! Come try her out, you wont be disappointed. You can view her photo album at: pix.sfly.com/UcvVnvq8 Shipping Notes Can ship, $1 per mile loaded and unloaded.

About Flemington, NJ

Before European settlement, the land that comprises Flemington, as was all of Hunterdon County, was the territory of the Lenni Lenape Native Americans. In 1712, as part of a land parcel of 9,170 acres (37.1 km 2), the Flemington area was acquired by William Penn and Daniel Coxe. The surrounding fertile farmland dictated that the beginnings of Flemington were agricultural. Early German and English settlers engaged in industries dependent on farm products. As time passed poultry and dairy farms superseded crops in agricultural importance.
