Shetland Pony Stallion for Sale in Merkel, TX
This is an absolute gorgeous stallion who is ASPC / AMHR registered. He started his show career in 2004 and with limited showing has done very well. He is now trained to drive and was trained by Diane Teague of Cedar Creek Ranch. We look forward to his foals in 2006. His Sire Town & Country's Catipult is a National Champion Pleasure Driving Pony, National Grand Champion Classic Under Stallion, 1998 Classic Halter Pony of the Year. His Dam is Wa - full Benihana (2X Superior Dam) . After much thought and serious discussion with the direction our program is going we have decided to sell this gorgeous stallion.
About Merkel, TX
Around 1870, when the Texas and Pacific Railway was built, the town was founded as Windmill Town. In 1881, it was renamed as Merkel in honor of the first settler in this area, S. M. Merkel from Germany. In 1882, the first mercantile store and in 1883, the first post office opened.
