Looking for a new Retirement Home With Friends he can Play With...

Crotons Golden Boy (Golden Boy for short) is a 26-year-old Registered American Quarter Horse Palomino looking for a new retirement home with friends to keep him company and play with. Golden Boy is a retired western event horse and has paid his dues. Now he just needs a retirement pasture where he can live out the rest of his days with his pasture mates. I sold his partner a couple years ago and he was doing fine for a while, but he is EXTREMELY lonely now. So lonely that he paces back and forth across his pastures looking out into the fields for hours and hours on end. He really needs a mate to play with every day in his pasture. He is a wonderful horse and I love him dearly but my life is too hectic to get him a partner in crime so I must do what is best for him and find him a retirement home that either has horses or goats or some sort of pasture mate. He is a great horse who can be haltered as soon as you walk up to him, he can be walked and ridden under saddle but as stated, this is a retired event horse so I am looking for a home that will not ride him at more than a walk. He will show up lame as soon as anyone starts to ride him hard or at extended walks and or canter (his tendonitis in one hock). He stands beautifully for the farrier, gets trimmed regularly and has good hooves. He does not like needles so he must be tranquilized, by the vet, every year when he gets his shots and his teeth floated. He does not bite or kick. He loves to be pet and lead around. Loves to eat. He has no teeth or hygiene issues. He is of good weight and loves to run and play. He can be walked around on a lead line if one wants to take him out for a walk. He loves to be taken out and brushed and fed. He is of easy maintenance and lives outside 24/7. As long as he has his blanket in the winter and a shed to go in during a torrential downpour, he’s a happy camper. This is not an easy decision for me since I’ve had him since he was three, and he was a rescue who was abused, so I am not making this decision lightly. Please only respond to this ad if you are seriously looking for a pasture mate and have a good home for him. He has so much love to give so I am looking for a home that will love him in return for the rest of his days.
