Gypsy Vanner Mare for Sale in Fort Worth, TX

Darcie and Kalli are a spectacular pair of Gypsy driving horses. Eye-catching and playful, gentle and professionally-trained, the “girls” won the National Driving Pairs Championship, and Obstacle Championship, and as singles placed first and second in Obstacles and Trail in Hand. They have participated in the National Drive at the Lexington Horse Park, the Fort Worth Stock Show, Austin and San Antonio events, and many other horse shows, parades, and parties. They are easy to harness and load, they stand well for farriers, and are easy to clip. They have extensive training in pulling a carriage as a pair or singly, and a Meadowbrook cart as singles. Well-behaved around livestock, traffic, people, show rings, and carnivals in farm or city settings. They have limited experience under saddle. The nine-year-old fillies are for sale as a pair due to the owners’ health condition. Darcie is sired by A Wizards Spell Worthington, and Kalli is by A Wizards Spell Sir Kensington. DNA-tested and registered with the GHRA, these girls will be great for a beginning hobbyist or a professional showman. Greater Fort Worth, Texas, area. The mares are priced $11,000 each. Serious inquiries only, please.

About Fort Worth, TX

The Treaty of Bird's Fort between the Republic of Texas and several Native American tribes was signed in 1843 at Bird's Fort in present-day Arlington, Texas. Article XI of the treaty provided that no one may "pass the line of trading houses" (at the border of the Indians' territory) without permission of the President of Texas, and may not reside or remain in the Indians' territory. These "trading houses" were later established at the junction of the Clear Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River in present-day Fort Worth. At this river junction, the U.S. War Department established Fort Worth in 1849 as the northernmost of a system of 10 forts for protecting the American Frontier following the end of the Mexican–American War.
