Tennessee Walking Gelding for Sale in Aquilla, TX

Speck is a handsome brown and white spotted. This 10 year old gelding is 15 hands and weighs 1000+ pounds. Speck has a sweat personality and calm temperament; he loves to be groomed and touched. He is easy to catch in the pasture, and he gets along with other horses. Speck is currently up to date on all his shots. He comes with a smooth gait and calm trail walk. He is an excellent trail horse and will take care of his rider. He is also independent. He can ride alone or in a group. He is able to cross water, go up and down on hills, and stands to mount and dismount. He also has camping experience and is easy to load and unload in the trailer. This is a really nice horse, but is unregistered. I am asking $3500 OBO. Call or text for any questions or inquiries, and please come out and try him any time. About Aquilla, TX

From the Handbook of Texas Online: "Settlers, attracted to the site because it was the nearest point to Hillsboro where timber could be found, began moving into the area in the 1840s. The original settlement, near the site of present Aquilla, was called Mudtown. The community of Aquilla and nearby Aquilla Creek were probably named for early settler Aquilla Jones. The town received a post office in 1859. Twenty years later the tracks of the Texas Central Railroad crossed southwestern Hill County, passing within a few miles of the timber settlement.
